Salutations all! I hope you have all been well, it’s been an age I know.
It has been a full-on month for me, a stressful one.
I spent a ridiculous amount of time after my exams, worrying that I wouldn’t pass my units to graduate. I had mentally prepared myself for some bad results, joking about it with my friends and my parents. I was ready, but on the down low hoping that it wasn’t so. This has got to be my last semester, I thought. University had drained me mentally, physically and financially. I was at my wit’s end. Well guys, I did it! I’m done with university, no more school! Well until I start my Chartered Accountants program in the coming months.
Anyway, the stress progressed onto succeeding in my search for a graduate job. It felt like I was hopelessly applying to everything, even to roles that weren’t for graduates, like office support and administration hoping that one day I might be able to climb that company’s ladder. It was never-ending, discouraging and disappointing. Alas, I was brought in for an interview on last Tuesday, asked for references on Wednesday and offered a place at a small firm on Friday. The odds were in my favour.
I start next month so I now have all this time to kind of settle and relax a little for the first time in a while. Where there isn’t so much uncertainty for a while, because at this moment everything in my life right now seems to be perfectly aligned.
When it comes to the future of this blog, I’m not too sure of its fate currently. I’ll definitely be time poor as I undertake my new job, but it’s not something I would willingly part with. Maybe I’ll switch it up and feature some people that I like on here, but that remains as a quiet idea.
